Getting started
Open Pedometer Pro and allow the requested Apple Health read access and Motion & Fitness access. Set your daily step goal in Settings, and choose miles or kilometers. The first Health history import can take a little time; later launches show saved activity while fresh data loads.
Common questions
My steps are missing or not updating
Check Pedometer Pro’s read permissions in Apple Health and its Motion & Fitness permission in your device’s privacy settings. Walk with your iPhone and allow time for motion updates. In the app, try Settings → Refresh health data.
Health history and live phone counting use independent permissions. If Health records are unavailable or read access is disabled, history may be empty. The app cannot always distinguish those cases. Live counting needs compatible motion hardware.
Why is my count different from Apple Health or my watch?
Live phone updates and Health history arrive on different schedules. Apple Watch activity must sync to Apple Health before Pedometer Pro can read it. Counts may differ temporarily while those sources catch up. Pedometer Pro does not include a separate Apple Watch app.
What does “Past week” include?
Today and the previous six calendar days. Total steps, daily average, percent of goal, and goal days all use that same seven-day window. The average divides the total by seven; days without available steps contribute zero. Swiping to older chart dates does not change this summary.
How do streaks and rest days work?
Six consecutive days reaching your goal earn one rest day without breaking your streak. Reach your goal the next day to keep going. Another rest day requires six more consecutive successful days; unused rest days do not stack up.
An unfinished current day does not immediately break yesterday’s streak. Changing your goal recalculates which past days qualify. Badges already earned stay unlocked.
How do I change my goal or distance units?
Open Settings to set a daily goal from 1,000 to 50,000 steps in increments of 500, and choose miles or kilometers. Your preferences are saved on your device.
Why doesn’t the celebration play again?
The goal celebration is remembered for that day once it has been presented. It does not replay every time you reopen the app.
Why do distance or floors show zero?
Distance and flights climbed depend on the Health data and motion measurements your device can provide. Hardware and permissions affect availability; a step count does not guarantee distance or floor measurements.
Why does the first load take longer?
The first import reads your available Health history. After that, the app keeps a protected local display cache so it can show saved activity promptly while updating in the background. If iOS removes the cache, it will be rebuilt from permitted Health data.
How do I remove the app’s data?
Choose Delete App, rather than Offload App, to remove local app data. This does not delete your underlying Apple Health records. Manage those separately in Apple Health. If you reinstall and grant access again, the app can read the history still available there.
